Muntajat (Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company Q.J.S.C.) returned to the Annual Gulf Petrochemical and Chemical Association (GPCA) Fertilizer Convention to represent the State of Qatar’s growing downstream industry.

The GPCA Fertilizer Convention, now in its sixth year, was held in Dubai from the 14th to the 16th of September 2015 under the “Innovating for growth: Ensuring an efficient, sustainable future” theme. The Muntajat delegation that was led by Muntajat’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Abdulrahman Ali A-Abdulla and Executive Director of Marketing, Mr. Youssef Jeham Al-Kuwari, joined industry leaders to discuss the arising challenges and growth opportunities amidst the changing global and regional market conditions.

Exhibiting at the convention, Muntajat showcased its complete portfolio of Qatar’s downstream products, including high quality Urea, Ammonia, Aqueous Ammonia and Urea Formaldehyde Concentrate (UFC). In addition, the company strengthened its presence at the event by taking on sponsorship opportunities and partaking in various awareness activities.

Commenting on Muntajat’s return to the GPCA Fertilizer Convention, Mr. Youssef Jeham Al-Kuwari said: “ Our return to the GPCA Fertilizer convention comes in line with our commitment to reinforce Qatar’s position on the regional and international fertiliser scene. This year’s conference theme of growth and sustainability brought some of the most pressing issues to the table, leading to important strategic discussions among the industry experts present at the event.”

“Despite the fluctuating trends of our industry, the demand for Qatar’s fertiliser is still on the rise. Fertiliser remains a primary element among developing nations, as they strive to cater to the growing populations. In 2014, Muntajat’s fertiliser sales increased by more than 17%, constituting over two third of our total sales value for the year.” added Mr. Al-Kuwari

Muntajat transitioned the marketing, sales and distribution activities of Qatar Fertiliser Company (QAFCO)’s fertiliser in 2013. Established in 1969, QAFCO has more than 40 years experience in the industry and is one of the world’s largest producers of Urea and Ammonia. Muntajat has delivered Qatar’s fertiliser to new markets, servicing customers in more than 120 countries.
